How do I book a cabin?

Is it cheaper to book ahead of time?

Prices do vary but when booking on our website we have a Best Price Guarantee applicable at the time of booking.

How much does it cost to rent a cabin in Big Bear?

The cost to rent a cabin varies by season and size. Starting at $85 per night up to $1000 per night for Luxury homes.

What is your cancellation policy?

Reservations are non-refundable once booked. If cancellation is within 30 days of your arrival, we will put the rental up for re-booking. If re-booked you will be eligible for a rain check voucher to use within 6 months at the same rental. If not re-booked you are still held responsible for the amount of the reservation. 

How can I cancel my reservation?

Do you offer trip insurance?

We offer an optional trip insurance through "Rental Guardian " Because Anything Can Go Wrong!  The insurance protects your non-refundable Vacation Rental investment.  It covers for unforeseen situations such as lack of snow, road closure, lost/stolen items, roadside assistance, medical expenses (for injuries while on your trip), and trip interruption and cancellation. The cost of the insurance is 7% of your total reservation price.

Are there any discounts available?

Is the price online the same as the price you get when calling your office?

The quote given on our website will be the same as a quote over the phone.

Is the price online the total? Are there any other fees?

When booking online, you will see the total with all tax and fees once you have clicked ‘Show Detailed Quote’.

Can I pay cash for my reservation?

We require all reservations to be paid in full 14 days prior to your arrival. But if you would like to pay cash at check-in we can refund your credit/debit card and take a cash payment. 

How much do I have to pay to make a reservation?

Reservations booked more than 14 days from arrival will require 25% payment to reserve. The final payment is required 14 days prior to arrival. 

What is the minimum age to book?

The minimum age to reserve a cabin is 21. No exceptions will be made.

Check-In/Check-Out Procedures

How do I check-in?

Check-in time is 4 pm or after. Most of our properties are direct check in. You must sign our rental agreement and provide a picture ID along with the credit card used at the time of booking. 

For in person check in - the person on the reservation/credit cardholder must be present. Upon check-in, you must provide a picture ID along with the credit card used at the time of booking. Early check-in is subject to availability. Inquiries can be made via text at 909-219-9681. Early check-in arrangements cannot be made until the morning of your arrival date. If the cabin is clean and ready early, we will be happy to accommodate your request. Typically - 2 pm or later would be a complimentary offer, earlier times may be possible with an early check-in fee.

How do I check-out?

Check-out is any time before 11 am on the day of your departure. During the winter holiday period of 12/17-1/17, check-out time is before 10 am. A late check-out may be added to your reservation for an additional fee (not available during winter holidays). You do not need to come into the office to check-out. Per City Ordinance, trash must be disposed of at one of the 'Clean Bear' dump sites. All dishes must be washed, dried and put away, the heater must be left at 55 degrees, spa cover must be put on and locked, all windows and doors must be closed and locked, and keys are to be left in the lock box. Late check-out is subject to availability. Inquiries can be made via text at 909-219-9681.

Where do we go to check-in?

Our check-in office is located at 586 Bonanza Trl, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315.

Do we need to come back to the office to check-out?

If your rental is equipped with keyless entry or a lock box you will not be required to come to our office to check-out.

What if I am arriving after business hours?

Late check-in arrangements can be accommodated but must be made prior to the close of business hours the day of check-in. Any check-in after 11 pm will be charged $45. Please call one of our Vacations Specialists to arrange an after-hours check-in.

What documents do I need to check-in?

At check-in, you are required to present your driver's license and the credit/debit cards which you used to make any payments. 

Can someone else check-in to my reservation for me? 

No, the credit card holder must be present at check-in with proper ID and the credit card used to book the reservation.

Pricing & Payments:

Is there a security deposit?

Typically, there is no security deposit required. If there are damages to the property or missing items, the credit card provided at the time of booking may be charged. Security deposits may be required if your form of payment is cash (and there is no credit card on file), or if a specific property requires it.

Do you accept Virtual Cards?

No, I'm sorry but for security reasons we do not accept virtual credit cards.

When do I get my deposit back?

If a Security deposit is taken, it is refunded within 10 days from your check-out date provided no damage was incurred.

Does the cabin I booked have a deposit?

 If your cabin rental requires a security deposit, it will be listed in the cabin’s description. 

How much are cabins in Big Bear?

Cabins in Big Bear vary in cost depending on the dates of stay and size of the cabin. 

Property & Amenities:

Are air conditioners provided in your cabins?

Most cabins in Big Bear are not equipped with A/C but the weather is ideal in the Summer. We do provide fans within the homes as well.

Are linens provided?

All linens are provided with the exception of spa or pool towels.

Is firewood provided?

Firewood is not provided but we do have multiple size bundles for purchase.

Rules & Restrictions:

Can I bring my pet?

Many of our properties are pet friendly, while others are not. There is a $30 per pet per night pet fee on pet friendly properties if you are bringing a pet. If you are unsure whether or not a property is pet friendly, please contact our office. Make sure to pick up your dog's deposits from the yard prior to your departure.  Pet Friendly Cabins.  PET RESTRICTIONS: Guests will automatically be evicted with no refund for having a pet at any not pet friendly home.  Exterior cameras can quickly show a pet on the premises.  Pets are not allowed anywhere on the premises unless designated a pet friendly home and the guest has disclosed and paid the pet fee.

Is there a curfew?

Yes, the use of an outdoor spa or any other activity that disturbs the peace is prohibited between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am.

Is street parking allowed?

Street parking is not allowed anywhere in Big Bear.  Each property has a maximum number of parking spots.

 

Can I add additional guests to my reservation?

You may add guests to your reservation as long as the amount of people does not exceed the maximum occupancy stated in the property’s description. Each property has a maximum occupancy and maximum number of cars.

Can I park an RV at my Vacation Rental?

City and county ordinances prohibit RV parking at any Vacation rental.

Can I park a Boat at my Vacation Rental?
 

If there is space, boat parking is allowed at vacation rentals.  Please contact us at 909-866-7374 to find rentals with boat parking spaces.

Are events allowed in the cabins?

No party, wedding, or other gathering exceeding occupancy limits is permitted at any time.

Travel & Location Concerns:

Do I need tire chains?

By law, you are required to carry chains in your vehicle when traveling the mountains in winter months, even if they are not required to be on your tires. Highway Patrol may stop you, at any time, to confirm they are in your vehicle. Vehicles with 4-wheel drive also need to carry chains. If you have any questions about the road conditions, or whether or not chains are required, the best number to call would be The Road and Snow line at (909) 866-ROAD (7623).

How far away is Big Bear Lake?

Each home is located in a different area of Big Bear. The distance to the lake is listed in the property description, but all homes are within a few miles.

When does it usually snow in Big Bear?

December through March is typically when it snows, with January averaging the most.

What are the best days to come to Big Bear to see the snow?

If there is snow, we suggest visiting Big Bear on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds.

Is there snow in Big Bear?

The first snowfall can be as early as October, but typically Nov - March is when snowfall occurs.  Check our weather page for up to date information.

Is Big Bear Lake a public lake?

Yes! Big Bear Lake is public and free to access.

Can you swim in Big Bear Lake?

Yes, as long as you stay within 50 feet of the shoreline. There are no lifeguards.

Why do I have to dispose of my own trash?

Trash disposal at check-out is a citywide ordinance for vacation rentals. If you would like to purchase a trash pick up, please contact one of our Vacation Specialists.
