"Nice Place to Stay!"

5 of 5

Cabin was very cozy and great for our family. We really enjoyed the location of the cabin, near the zoo and the golf course. The back deck was a great size, the BBQ was a good size and the yard was nice. Plenty of trees to provide shade for the patio table. The driveway is a steep one and a larger truck is definitely recommended. My family and I will definitely visit again.

"COZY!"

5 of 5

COZY! super duper cozy. This is the perfect cabin for those that want to snowboard at bear mountain or summit. Bear is walking distance! We originally drove there from the cabin, but we realized it was super close so we drove back to walk to the mountain to snowboard. It was just my husband and our dog, but we could've had 4 more people take the next room, but it was perfect for us too. It's a beautiful spot! Really glad we took our Tacoma truck, definitely need it in the snow and especially the driveway. The office for the neighborhood is really great with response, the cabin was missing a sponge for washing dishes, and they brought one to us in a matter of 10 minutes.

"Cozy and quiet."

4 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our little family weekend getaway. It isn't too far from all the festivities in Big Bear. There was plenty of room for our family of four. The driveway was a little steep and made it tricky tricky with our pickup truck, but we managed. We would stay at this location again.

"Comfy, Cozy, & Cute"

5 of 5

What a lovely experience! We arrived late at night, and the lady at the office down the street was very helpful while we were checking in. It was a little difficult to find the place (pulled into a couple wrong driveways), as there was no porch light on. But having a picture of the cabin eventually helped us (it's hidden from the road behind trees and bushes). We got to the cabin and were pleasantly surprised--beautiful country-themed decorations, plenty of seating space for our family, comfortable beds and bedding, excellent heating system, board games, and to top it off, we got to bring our pup, Willow and bunny, Bear! Our boys spent hours outside building snowmen and having snowball fights in the back yard, and we really enjoyed our morning walks through the snow-covered neighborhood. We brought a bunch of food (which fit nicely inside the fridge) to save money on meals. Plenty of dishes and pots/pans to cook with, and everything was very clean! (I've been to other cabins before where the utensils were still caked with food--yuck). We spent a day at the Aspen Glen Picnic Area nearby sledding and hiking. There wasn't a whole lot of snow when we were there, but there was enough to dig our own sled track! Tip: don't settle for the first hill you see at the picnic grounds--it's crowded and icy. Hike the trail uphill for 10-15 minutes and if you venture off just a bit you'll find untouched hills of snow all to yourselves! Bring lunch, water, shovels, and sleds and you'll have an amazing day :) On our way back down, we pulled the kids on their sleds down the trail--no complaints from them (which is pretty much a miracle, haha). At night, we went to the Big Bear Village. It was chilly, but once we had cups of hot cocoa in hand, we were delighted to see the twinkle lights lining the walkways. Bonus--there's a caged-in fire ring, perfect for defrosting a bit on your walk. We had such a wonderful family experience, and I'm looking forward to making this a tradition. We'll be back soon!

"A nice little cabin"

4 of 5

The cabin is surprisingly close to the Bear Mountain Snow Resort (having a baby with us, we only wanted to get away from the city and did not want to participate in winter sports). It is a nice little cabin that allows relaxation. The decor is very heart-warming. The price, compared to other two-bedrooms, is really economical.

"Mountain Magic"

4 of 5

Our stay at the alpine Jewel, though short, was one of the best we have had to Big Bear. We had rented a cabin from Cool Cabins once before and had a pleasant experience. This time they had outdone themselves. The cabin was spacious, cozy and comfortably slept five. The view was great with a truly "rustic mountain" feel. The only recommendations we could give were the lack light due to a couple key lightbulbs being burned out, the bed frames in the second bedroom being collapsed and giving no support to the matresses as well as the table on the back patio was lying on the deck in pieces and the extremely steep and somewhat precarious driveway entry made it difficult to get in and out of the lot with ease. Even with these minor problems we would gladly rent this cabin or any other from Cool Cabins in the future.

"Family of 5- loved!"

5 of 5

We have 3 young children, and this place was so perfect. All the little details were remembered, and that was so helpful. The yard was great for our Great Dane, tons of snow to sled on and run around in. Our kids loved the bunk beds. Very fun place to spend a little snow getaway with our family. We will be back!!
