Description

Charming, Cozy Cabin with Amazing Forest Views! - Welcome to the Glen! Built in 1969, Forest Glen is owned and maintained with love by Lindsay and Andrew, a pair of writers in Los Angeles. Forest Glen is a cozy, charming getaway for escaping the day-to-day hustles of city life.

Resting on the edge of forest land, the crisp air, gorgeous views, and refreshing hikes of the forest await right out your back door.

A romantic and charming cabin, it’s the perfect place to unplug, hunker down, read a book, watch a movie, play games, and find new creative inspiration. It's a warm, cozy getaway in the winter, fall and spring, and it's a welcome escape for those seeking cooler alpine temperatures in the summer months.

The open floor plan under the high, A-Frame ceilings gives the space undeniable "cabin vibes", and the living room windows look out at the peaceful forest, where you will spot birds and perhaps some woodland creatures. At the center of it all is a beautiful stone fireplace that is ready and waiting to make your stay as cozy as possible. Outside, a quaint bridge leads from the car park to the cabin's front porch, where you can sit amongst the trees while you enjoy sipping a coffee or glass of wine.

A perfect combination of modern and rustic, we have everything you need to have a great stay while still enjoying a proper escape to nature. Coffee and tea, a fully stocked kitchen, a whole brigade of comfy blankets, fresh linens and towels. Not to mention, high speed internet, Smart TVs, and a Sonos sound system to help you fill the house with whatever vibes you need to recharge and inspire. To top it all off, we have a board game cabinet jam packed with board games, card games, and more.

Both bedrooms have comfortable queen beds, closets, and flat screen TVs (so everyone in the family can watch whatever they want!). The first bedroom has a dresser so you can unpack for a longer stay, and the second bedroom has an antique writer's desk to help you work remotely or find new creative inspiration.

"Summer rental of Forest Glen cabin"

3 of 5

In general, the cabin does the job. Overall, i would give it 3.5 stars as it does lack in some areas for a Summer rental. There really is no patio furniture to relax on for those summer days. Two bolted down wrought iron seats in the front with no pads or a long built in wooden bench. In the back of the house there are two wooden adirondack chairs and a wooden picnic bench that all were more worthy of going in a dumpster! For a summer rental, offer some descent outdoor summer furniture. There was however a newer gas Weber grill. Overall, the place was clean but not super clean. Fans and under sofas and chairs were filthy. Place needs a deep cleaning. There was a pure white faux bear skin rug in the living room. What owner/idiot though this name sense? It was disgusting and filthy! There were also a mouse of two in the house that we saw daily. (I get that happens in the mountains) but they need to look into a better mouse deterrent program. Toilet felt liek it was soon going to fall through the floor (likely rotting out underneath). Add some hooks in the kitchen so one can hang dish towels. Maybe some hooks in bedrooms as well. There were no hangers at all in the cabin. Overall, the cabin was descent but for a rental, it lacks a lot of Simple fixes.

We enjoyed our stay and used a lot of the amenities. Thoughtful touches like the humidifier nice cooking pans and utensils, great oven we’re all thoroughly enjoyed. There was also a great game collection. We will be visiting this cabin again.

"Hidden in the woods! "

5 of 5

It is a beautiful cabin that is very cozy and has all the essentials. The place allows for a nice quiet getaway that was very much needed. It was equipped with so many games that kept us entertained all night. The entire place was very clean and our favorite part about the stay was having a fully equipped kitchen. There was no need for us to take any tools because they were already available to us from pans to toaster to a nice ready to make coffee set up. It was a nice hidden in the woods escape that I can’t wait to take again.

"It was AWESOME!"

5 of 5

This place must be new because there weren't many reviews when we booked but we went for it and... it was AWESOME! A cozy, comfy cabin that's right up against the forest so you feel like you're IN the woods while you're cuddled up on the couch. The bridge walkway makes you feel like you're escaping out to it... it's rad. A stylish, thoughtful space that is brings some style and swag to cabin life. Really feels like a home. Plus, a whole cabinet of legit great board games. Definitely going to be coming back to this place.

"Forest Glen"

5 of 5

Didn't use the cabin like I wanted to but I did check it out . It was a nice little cabin with a area to go and explore. It was quite with the only exception of the kids playing outside at the cabin across from us but it was peaceful. I would get this cabin again . The only problem was try to connect to the WiFi but I figured it out there's no capital in the password lol.

"What a Great Place"

5 of 5

We love this cabin. It's a quiet, cozy, relaxing place to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy city life. The amenities are plentiful; Sonos speakers, board games, and streaming apps to make you feel at home yet in the middle of the woods. The cabin has been kept up well. It is very conveniently located to the village and the lake. We could not recommend this place more for a nice getaway.

"COZY GETAWAY, WITH NEARBY HIKING"

5 of 5

Forest Glen is just another one of those delightful reasons to say see ya later LA and spend your weekend in Big Bear. I recently spent a weekend at The Cabin (known as such since it's the only one I'll book moving forward), and it couldn't have been cozier. Starting with the tree shaded cat walk between the parking (there's parking!) and the front porch, you'll be delighted by the cute woodsy feel of this mountain gem. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and walkable, and the forest behind the cabin is perfect for a little off-trail hiking & exploring. The interior is clean, homey and well-appointed; comfortable (and tasteful!) new furnishings with a mountain flair to enhance your get-away experience while still incorporating enough modern textures to keep it chic. This ain't your grandma's cabin! There's a fireplace, snug, organized kitchen, and plenty of board games to give you that existential crisis again about whether you're a skier, or more of an "indoor person". Two bedrooms makes it perfect for a 4 person stay, but there's always the couch if you need to squeeze in one more. Can you smell the morning coffee yet? Do yourself a favor and get yourself to Forest Glen!

"Great Place For A Cozy Weekend"

5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for an artistic weekend retreat. A friend and I stayed here and loved it. It's a fun property, with a really cool bridge that leads from the road to the front door, almost like you're crossing a moat into a wooded castle. Inside it was cozy and warm. We each had our own room, and took advantage of the full kitchen to cook our meals. The sofa was super comfortable and we spent a lot of time listening to music on the Sonos speakers and playing board games. It's also a fairly easy mile walk to the local coffee shop, which started my morning with some activity and let me take in the natural beauty. It's located near a lot of forest land, so we had fun hiking through the trees and enjoying the cool weather. Overall I had a great experience. The house is really well maintained, all the amenities work, and it's a wonderful way to feel like you're out in nature while still getting to enjoy the comforts of home. I'd highly recommend this for quiet getaways or a romantic weekend.

"Hip and Relaxing!!"

5 of 5

I loved this place. It's more elegantly designed and less kitschy than most cabins I've been to -- with lots of furniture made from dark reclaimed wood and dark green walls. Which gives it a very unique and cozy feel. The neighborhood is quiet enough to relax but central enough to hop downtown in only a few minutes, the beds are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked, there's a huge selection of board games, great speakers for your own music, Netflix and Amazon Prime, and check-in and check-out is easy and clear. It's a very very special property in the middle of the woods and I'd highly encourage it for anyone who wants to relax! I wound up returning for a solo writing retreat and had one of the most productive weeks of my life while in that cabin. It definitely has a special energy to it!

"Cozy and charming, with forest views"

5 of 5

Forest Glen is a cozy cabin with an amazing location, nestled right on the edge of the forest. The decor is stylish and comfortable, with a lot of thoughtful, unique touches. The beds were super comfortable, and the bedrooms stay plenty warm during the winter. The stone fireplace is an awesome bonus, and we loved playing board games from the cabinet. If you're looking for a cozy and cute cabin getaway that makes you feel like you're getting close to nature, this one's for you.

"Great, cozy cabin in Big Bear!"

5 of 5

I couldn't recommend this cabin more. I had a great experience here. Nice, quiet location. Great amenities. Super convenient for skiing, and very close to bars/restaurants. Everything worked perfectly in the cabin, and everything was stocked up in the kitchen and bathroom. Had a very easy time cooking when we decided to eat meals at the cabin. Nice little outdoor area in the back was perfect for relaxing. All of the TV/streaming options were a nice surprise, too. And the host gave us A+ service throughout the booking process and our visit. Book this place!
