"Peak Lane Retreat -"

5 of 5

Peak Lane Retreat - We go to Big Bear 1-2 times a year and spend a week. Excellent town that is very dog friendly. We enjoyed this cabin very much, clean, beautiful views, lots of wildlife, large pines, very large fenced yard, full working kitchen with extras, gas bar-b-que on patio, perfect for us and our dogs...and lots of other amenities. It was a holiday weekend and there was lots of traffic and a concert, didn't bother us, we shopped and cooked at home, or went out to dine. There are lots of activities to do in town or at home. Cabin in wonderful neighborhood, great dog walking place and close to lake. We rented a boat at Holloway Marina, with discount for renting at Cool Cabins, took dogs on boat. It was a peaceful vacay and would rent this cabin again and again. We did a speedy check in/out via email, as we are frequent users of Cool Cabins. We also rent during other times of the year, with/without snow and enjoy the small town experience. There are lots of dog friendly cabins to choose from.

"2nd time"

4 of 5

Booked with Cool Cabins for the 2nd time, this time over 4th of July weekend. We chose Peak Lane Retreat for its quiet location, and nice fenced yard for our big Weimaraner. Once again, they did not disappoint! Barbara called us on the way to the cabin, letting us know in advance that they had checked the cabin, and the phone line was dead, which meant no internet. She also gave us the option of choosing another cabin or taking some money off upon checkout. She quickly emailed me a cabin to choose, but we went ahead and stayed in the one we picked first. It was mostly quiet, very well laid out, yet close to everything. Their attention to detail and Barbara's communication means we will be booking with them again, hopefully sooner than later. Thanks again to Cool Cabins for a relaxing and pleasant experience!

"Had another great stay in Big Bear!"

5 of 5

My husband and I had another great stay in Big Bear beginning of December booking thru Big Bear Cool Cabins. We stayed again in Peak Lane Retreat, which was great for us and our dogs. The cabin is very clean, cozy and well stocked. The back yard is large and fenced, perfect for dogs. It is also nice to relax back there, picnic table, and a couple of sitting benches in the back, also a propane BBQ which we used during our Summer stay. We had excellent customer service during check in and check out. Friendly, accommodating staff. We were able to stay an extra night and given a break on the extra night. Thank you Gigi! We will definitely book thru Big Bear Cool Cabins again and we have told friends and family this is the place too book for a great stay in Big Bear!

"The cabin we stayed in was perfect!"

5 of 5

This was my first time booking thru Big Bear Cool Cabins. I had been receiving emails with their promotions and took them up on their offer of a free night. Everything was very easy, booking, payment, check-in, check-out etc. Any questions I had were answered promptly and politely by all the staff I encountered. I also received follow up emails during my stay regarding my stay, any questions, etc. The customer service I received from Big Bear Cool Cabins was excellent all around. The cabin we stayed in was perfect for my husband and I. The rooms had ceiling fans which made it nice in the afternoons. The cabin also had a large fenced yard for dogs and a nice patio area, with propane BBQ. The cabin was nicely stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. All we needed to bring was our food, clothing, personal items. They also leave little baskets in bathroom with nice shampoos, shower gel and toothpaste, very nice! The towels were a little rough, but everything was very clean, top to bottom. I definitely will book thru Big Bear Cool Cabins again and have already recommended to family! Thank you Big Bear Cool Cabins for a great, relaxing stay!

Manager Response:

Hi Paige! Thank you so much for your feedback and I'm so pleased to hear that your experience was enjoyable! We hope you'll return to Cool Cabins for many vacations to come.

"Clean, well equipt cabin in a very quiet neighborhood"

4 of 5

We've stayed in other Big Bear cabins, and this one in probably the best condition of all. It had two bathrooms, one story, well equipt kitchen, and comfortable furniture. The internet worked great, there was a large backyard, plenty of hot water, and even a washer and dryer. The short parking driveway was not a problem for us with only one small car. Dogs are allowed, and the place was very clean and in good repair. The wall heater was a bit cranky, but we got it to work. The gas stove was not working well; it needed repair. Other than that, the place was roomy and comfortable and in a very quiet area. We could walk to the lake from the cabin.

"Great homey space"

5 of 5

Great spot, close to the lake and a quick drive to the village. I brought my dog and it was so nice being able to let him roam in the enclosed large yard. The kitchen is equipped with all your cooking needs and the home is very clean and spacious. This was perfect for a weekend away with my significant other!

"Great little cabin"

This is a great little cabin for a getaway. The yard is great for dogs and the neighborhood is so peaceful. It is centrally located to the village, hiking, the lake and all that Big Bear has to offer.

"Cute & clean place!"

5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for only 1 night and it was great. This cabin was the perfect size for us and our dog! The backyard is awesome for dogs since its fenced in. The location of this place is great as the walk to Boulder Bay isn't too bad. The place is very clean and cute and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. All you need is to bring food & you're set. We will definitely be returning.

"Perfect little house on the hill"

5 of 5

We really loved this cabin, this is probably the best cabin we have had in the three years we have been going to Big Bear Lake. We found that its imenities were great. The cabin was well stocked. The backyard was perfect for our dogs. It was a little ways from the village, but not that far.The cabin sits on top of a hill in the middle of a peninsula. So water on 3 sides. We go in October to feel the experience of Fall. The mornings were quite cold, daytime temps were chilly, but nice. The cabin has a very updated gas stove, very nice and cozy. All in all our stay was great, thanks to big bear cool cabins, they have always been great. Thanks we will be back again next year.

"We had a great time hiking"

4 of 5

My wife and I spent 4 nights. The cottage was quite comfy, bed very comfortable, shower was great and the neighborhood very quiet. We Bbq'd in the backyard and ate our meals outside. We brought all our food for the trip, and made this cottage our own. We brought our dog, she loved the beautiful backyard. So much to explore. We just loved that the backyard was completely fenced, we were able to leave the backdoor open while we were home so she could come in and out as she pleased and I didn't have to worry about her. We took her on many of our nature hikes. The nature trails are laid out nice on the visitor guides and maps plus we took the Snow Summit ski lift to the top 8200' elevation and did a hike followed by a wonderful pulled pork sandwich lunch. Everything we wanted to do was relatively close to the cottage which was nice. The entertainment system was great. They had a nice selection of movies, We watched several of them since we are movie buffs. Very relaxing home. Since they had such a large backyard it would have been nice to have a hot tub to ease the muscles after our hikes. We love Big Bear and will definitely stay at this cottage again. It was nice and easy dealing with this company. Thank you for our experience.

"Peaceful Retreat"

4 of 5

This was the first time I stayed in this bungalow. I travel with my border collie "Martha" We stayed Labor Day weekend. It was in the 100's in Riverside and 70's in the mountains. The neighbor hood was friendly and quiet. Still close enough to town and the activities I wanted to attend, but peaceful. I would rent this bungalow again. Recommend it to my friends.

"2 day summer getaway"

4 of 5

For the $$$, the cabin was small but comfortable & clean. Check in took less than 5min and was close to the cabin. Yard is fully fenced which was great for our 2 large dogs to let out late at nite. No grass, just a large dirt lot w/big trees but there was alot of sap tar on the ground which got on there paws. It was near the lake but no entry, all the areas nearby had private access so we still had to drive to the water. Lots of hiking trails and picnic areas nearby but not walking distance. If you want water access, your best bet would be to rent a waterfront property on the lake and pay the extra $$$. Overall was a pleasant experience. Big Bear Community is very nice.
