The Polar Plunge is coming up soon in Big Bear! Join the fun on March 7th, 2020. For a minimum of $50, you can participate in, literally, the coolest event Big Bear Lake has to offer. Not only are you in for tons of fun, but the money you give is going towards a great cause in Southern California.
The goal of this event is to raise $90,000 from donations for the Special Olympics. The Special Olympics is a global organization for athletes with intellectual disabilities. They provide year-round sports training and athlete competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults. The organization works with many volunteers and coaches each year. Since the establishment of the organization in 1968, the number of people involved has been expanding more and more with the help of fundraising events like the Polar Plunge. Donations help more and more athletes become part of the organization, this is why we encourage you to take part in a fundraising event for the Special Olympics.
To get involved, you can register as an individual plunger and create a fundraising page where you can collect donations online. Going with a group of friends or coworkers? Perfect! You can register as a group or join a group online to collectively raise money and plunge into Big Bear’s chilly lake. If you can't attend the event but would still like to help reach the goal of the event, you can donate to an individual or a team!
The Polar Plunge features a BBQ lunch, hot tubs, rock wall, music, and a raffle. So enjoy your excitingly chilly day by the lake and remember you’re freezin’ for a reason!
We have also created a list of properties near the plunge that feature hot tubs, so you can get warm and relax after an ice cold plunge!
