October is coming up! And what’s the next best thing besides Halloween? - Oktoberfest! This year is the 49th Annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest. We have Oktoberfest packages available, check them out here. There are so many things to do there! Today we are going to tell you all about it.
Food, Dancing, Beer and Children’s Activities! What more could you ask for during Oktoberfest?
There are a variety of sausages such as honey garlic bratwurst, spicy kilaposka, apple chicken sausage and traditional bratwurst. A German sausage sandwich includes choice of bratwurst, knockwurst or Polish sausage on a hoagie roll with or without sauerkraut. Sides include beer cheese soup and of our pretzels amongst many other foods.
Souvenirs include t-shirts, hair wreaths, magnets and obviously steins! This year’s Dance Group is: Die Kleine Bär Tänzer (The Little Bear Dancers) ages ranging from 5 years old to 13 years, Die Gemütlichen Schuhplattler from Anaheim, California, and GTEV D’Oberlander Dancers who have performed at Disneyland, Universal Studios and the Rose Parade.

Bring the kiddos! You don’t need to leave them behind. Oktoberfest is fun for all ages and for the whole family to enjoy together! Kids love the Chicken Dance. There are 20+ vendors selling a variety of arts, crafts, toys and collectibles. There will also be a bounce house, mechanical bull, carnival game booths, a balloon artist, face painting, airbrushed tattoos and so much more! Children’s contests include Boot Holding and Cup Spiel. Children’s contests take place at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Sundays and are FREE for them!
