Missing Oktoberfest and can’t wait until October to enjoy the fun and excitement that Oktoberfest brings? The Convention Center in Big Bear has the solution. Come up and join us for the 2nd Annual Big Bear Lake Maifest! There will be German music, beer, cuisine, contests and games. They will also have a May Pole. This is definitely a must attend event.
This weekend is also the 2nd Annual Grill and Chill. Featuring a sanctioned Kansas City BBQ State Championship Competition with more than 30 teams competing. You are probably thinking why is Kansas City BBQ State Championship Competition being held in Big Bear Lake, California? Who cares, come out and eat yummy BBQ food! There will be great BBQ food, live music, a craft beer, wine and cocktail garden, Kids Dino Land, and an Artesian Marketplace with plenty of vendors for the shopper in you. This event is FREE for all ages.
If you are an art lover there is something for you too! Art on the Corner is a fun and relaxing event where you can browse beautiful artwork while enjoying a glass of beer or wine. Fine art and craftsmanship will be features in a variety of mediums.
Snow Summit has plenty to do this weekend. The Bike Park at Snow Summit’s opening day is finally here. Summit is the place to be if you are a seasoned mountain bike rider or even if you are new to the sport. Opening day is Saturday, May 25.
Have you ever wanted to watch a movie outside, under the beautiful Big Bear night sky? If the answer is yes (it should be yes) come out to Snow Summit for Movies in the Meadow. This is one of my family’s favorite things to do. This week is featuring Turbo! Bring blankets, chairs and your favorite movie buddy!
Calling all music lovers…Desperado, the premier Eagles Tribute Band is coming to The Cave on Saturday, May 25. This tribute band is one of the best around. It is like hearing the actual Eagles play. Desperado is a “Must Hear” for any Eagles fan or music lover.
Last but certainly not least on Sunday, May 26th join the Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club and some local 5th grade kids from across the valley for the BBLACC Show ‘N Shine Car Show and the Pinewood Derby Race. Come out and cheer on our 5th graders as they race their custom-built race cars down the track. This event is free to everyone.
