April 1st was opening day on Big Bear Lake and we had our 1st bass tournament of the year. The bass fishing is the best we have seen in years and that is no April Fool’s joke. There were several big fish caught and we had 3 huge limits brought in. Phil and Dean had the big fish of the tournament with a 6lb 2.4oz largemouth, they took 3rd place with 19lbs 3.2oz. Matt and Marceli took 2nd place with a solid 19lbs 11.2oz which included a nice 3lb+ smallmouth. Matthew and Hannah ended up with the win with 21lbs 5.8oz. Big Bear Lake showed what it is capable of and the spring bite is just getting started. Our next tournament is on May 6th, head up to the mountains and get in on this great fishing.
