What better place to social distance than the great outdoors!  Many people think about Big Bear as a ski destination.  And while winters are ripe for sledding and whipping down the mountain, there is special beauty that takes over in the summer months.  Big Bear lake is stocked with plenty of trout and is perfect for a day out on a boat taking in the gorgeous scenery.  Grab lunch from one of the local restaurants (we love sandwiches from Mountain Munchies), pack some of your favorite beverages, slap on the sunscreen and enjoy the day.  When we are looking for something a little more active we take the local trails for some nature walks or hikes.  Download the All Trails app for quick reference to various trails including their distance, difficulty and reviews from other hikers.  Feeling more adventurous?  Race along some of the world's best mountain biking trails around town.  The ski slopes become a dare devils playground when the sun has melted.  The weather is gorgeous and consistent all summer long though be sure to have a light jacket for nights.  Enjoy campfires, s'mores and the sparkling summer stars that shine bright in our quiet mountain town.
